Throughout the years, GPA has earned several awards of national recognition for its excellence in electric utility operations and leadership from the American Public Power Association (APPA).

Among the various awards received are the Excellence in Public Power Communications Award, Safety Award of Excellence, and a Smart Energy Provider (SEP) designation that represents GPA’s commitment towards delivering safe, reliable, sustainable, and affordable electrical services and its dedication to offering programs that help customers save money, reduce collective environmental impact, and support the community’s responsible energy use.

In addition, GPA General Manager John M. Benavente, P.E. has earned the James D. Donovan Individual Achievement Award for his significant contributions to the electric utility industry and to public power with a special commitment to public power.

These awards highlight GPA’s diligence to excellence across all facets of operations and customer engagement initiatives.
